The Welsh Broadband Support Scheme.

Get your satellite broadband equipment and installation for free! The Welsh Assembly has launched a £2m support scheme to bring broadband to Welsh broadband “not spots”.

What is the Scheme?

The Broadband Support Scheme (BSS) is aimed at individuals, small and medium businesses, communities and 3rd sector organisations located in rural communities who can’t currently access broadband.

In these ‘broadband not spots’, the scheme will fund costs of up to £1000 covering purchase, installation and setup of a broadband solution where existing providers have been unable to provide a service greater than 512Kbps.

If you don’t already have broadband in your area or you consistently get a broadband download speed of less than 512Kbps, you may well be eligible NOW.

What do I do?

First, if you can get on the internet, check broadband availability for your area on the following website: www.samknows.com

If it appears you live or work in a broadband notspot, have not previously received public funding for broadband and you meet the eligibility criteria and funding is available you will receive the grant.

Applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis...so do not delay!!

Provided you meet the criteria and your application is approved, funding will be made available to you directly from the Welsh Assembly for the upfront cost (hardware and installation) up to a maximum £1000 per application.

Monthly subscriptions will not be funded under the scheme.
